- How to get to the city center, once at the airport ?

- In the front of the airport, an employee is found next to the taxi line, he will ask for your exact destination, and will give you the price to be paid to the driver (ask for the price in euros if you don't have  forints) .The airport of Budapest is deserved by a taxi company which belongs to it, and it called :'Zona- Taxi'. You can pay in Forints or Euros. Generaly 16-30 euros, with up to 3-4 persons per taxi. It is possible as well to take the “Airport Minibus” for about 2500 HUF(Hungarian Forint). The drivers usually speak good english, but to avoid getting the address wrong, write it down beforehand. Other option is to take the local bus from airport to the metroline, then use the metro to get to the center. Here you need to have tickets for each line and person.

- Where and how can you exchange your Euros?

- You can change your Euros in small Exchange Offices found all arround Budapest. You will see the sign ”Change”  and the currencies  indicated in front of the shop. Do not use ”traveller checks” because the hungarian banks take a big percentage for themselves. Do not change your money in banks, hotels, the rate is less worth. Definitly not change at the airport, here the change is catastrofical! In general you can count a rate of exchange of 250 – 300. For 1000 forints: 4 €  - 5 €,  2000 forints: 8 € - 10 €, 10000 forints: 40 € -50 € etcetera.
